Recycled inner tubes are the building blocks of consumer products in the 21st century. Accessories made of pipe cleaners, hemp, cigar boxes and old cassette tapes used to be the barometer of cool, but these days it’s all about the inner tubes. You can get wallets, bags, Halloween costumes, emergency flotation devices and even bike tires (!) made out of the magic black material. Not content to simply sew a bunch of random pieces of farm tractor inner tube rubber together and call it a bag, Defy took it one step further with a steel and brass Austri Alpin Cobra buckle. It’s a simple two pocket bag with a seat belt strap and a buckle closure that doubles as equipment for special forces teams around the globe. It’s kind of like building a brand new supercar to show off a door handle, but we’re ok with that. $150
