burns eternal. Yes, the actress hit a rough patch a few years back, and
then a few more rough patches — yes, she has struggled to reboot her
once promising career — yes, yes. But we want so badly for her to come out on top, and you know what? She looked pretty damn great at the Moschino men's show on Monday in a little black (and white chained) dress by the label.
In
fact, Lohan is a case study in how to style Jeremy Scott's
oft-ridiculous designs. The relatively simple dress gave balance to the
gold MOSCHINOs stamped across her heels and bag, and her accessories --
dark sunglasses and a vaguely tattoo necklace-ish choker -- looked
pretty cool with her clean, undone updo. Speaking of, Lohan's hair color
looks fantastic right now. As with Emma Stone: Red, always red.
Besides
that, there's something perfect — and either sad or heartening,
depending on your view of Lohan's progress in recent years — about a
fallen pop culture icon getting in on Scott's oversaturated, junk
food-laden vision for Moschino. In one of Scott's McDonald's-themed
looks, it would have been too much. But by sticking with a more classic
style, Lohan was able to give a nod to the chew-em-up-and-spit-em-out
consumerism that Scott plays with, without getting eaten up by it.
