When I was studying in New York, I used to say my apartment wass Kate’s Paperie because I always had all kinds of supplies.
Now my house is National Book Store—ask anyone who’s been here. I have all the good pens, the best books (ask Jude), all the wrapping papers, scotch tape, Post-It notes, note pads, and I love to share.
I consider myself lucky to be friends with National because it is my wasteland in Manila. I love dropping by to get all sorts of affordable thrills, like even a magazine can make me happy.
That’s why I’m so jealous of Rajo Laurel’s new collab with National!

National Book Store, the country’s largest bookstore chain, has partnered with top fashion designer Rajo Laurel to create a line of stylish products at affordable prices.
Rajo’s collab with National Book Store began earlier this year when Xandra Ramos-Padilla, NBS Purchasing Director, pitched the idea to Rajo Laurel.
Rajo immediately thought of using metallics and squiggle designs from his 2013 gala show as inspirations.

Almost a year after the initial conversation, Xandra says, “We are proud that our very first designer collaboration is with Rajo Laurel, who has taken everyday items and elevated them to the level of design.
He was very meticulous about every detail—from product design to packaging—and made sure all the products are affordable. These collectible items are perfect holiday gifts.”
