Korean Airways
For those of us stuck in economy, we don’t need to be reminded how much better life is at the front of the plane. Still, it’s good to know how the other half is being treated.
Korean Air has teamed up with Absolut Vodka to create Celestial Bars in its A380 double-decker planes. Each plane will carry three bars: two self-service in business class and one tended by a professional mixologist in first. To commemorate the partnership, Absolut has created three drink concepts available on board: the Elyx, made with a new superpremium version of the brand; Just Add, a simple two-ingredient drink made using Absolut’s extensive range of flavors; and Drink Labs, a range of beverages created exclusively by mixologist Andre Basile Leon.
For those not in business or first class, there will be an onboard Duty Free Showcase featuring a range of vodka-based products for you to choose from. It’s good to know Absolut is looking after the little people too.
When can we expect to start using these bars? Korean Air has reportedly placed an order for 10 A380 aircrafts, with the first five scheduled to be delivered by the end of 2011.
Each A380 plane will be fitted with three Celestial Bars: two in business and one in first class.
The décor inside the bars uses the same color scheme as Absolut and has its branding subtly woven into the wallpaper.
First class passengers will have a professional mixologist on board to whip up their vodka-based drink of choice.
Absolut has created a number of drinks especially for the Celestial Bar.
