When they are alive, they leave their fans spellbound, and once they leave the world, their memorabilia do all the speaking for them. Often, the things these celebrities touch, turns into gold, but few memorabilia cost more than this. The iconic thriller star Sean Connery was seen holding this golden gun in the film’s poster. This was sold for $437,000 that is 14 times its original value. The gun was a part of Christie’s Popular Culture: Film and Entertainment’ auction in London. Originally, the gun was never meant to be used in the movie, but this happened to be used as the original Walther PPK pistol didn’t turn up.

When it comes to celebrities, the very first name that comes to our mind is the king of pop music Michael Jackson. Who can forget his iconic red and black Thriller jacket, which is one of the two jackets that Jackson wore in his Thriller video. The famous jacket was given to him by the well known costume designers Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush, and it is said that Jackson used to wear it on every Thriller concert. The inner lining of the jacket is emblazoned by a note from the designer, which reads To Bush and Dennis, All My Love, Michael Jackson. The jacket was under hammer few days ago and was expected to fetch $200,000 and $400,000. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Shambala Preserve where Jackson’s Bengal tiger Thriller and Sabu have been living since 2006.

3. Marilyn Monroe’s black cocktail dress

Who can forget Marilyn Monroe, and so is with her beautiful cocktail dress that she wore in 1958 which fetched a record-breaking $348,000 when put on auction. The auction of the stunning black crepe cocktail dress with deep V-neck, and low-cut back with pouf hemline took place at the Julien’s. Monroe is seen wearing the same dress on the cover of the book “Marilyn Monroe: From Beginning to End” by Michael Ventura.

4. Steve McQueen’s ‘Le Mans’ Racing Suit

We remember Steve McQueen in one of his legendry motor racing suit that he wore in famous movie ‘Le Mans’. The suit was worn by him in 1971, which was later offered for sale by Toronto’s Collector’s Studio. The suit is made by Hinchman of Indianapolis and bears the name of McQueen’s character in the movie, Michael Delaney. The jacket also features the logos of Gulf, Heuer, Firestone, and the American flag.

5. Bruce Lee’s coat

Bruce Lee who was very well known for his fight sequences in movies wore this coat in his last film “Game of Death”, which was later sold for $77,000. The coat was sold at a rare auction of the late Kung Fu icon’s items in Hong Kong. This blue coat has a fur lining and was made in 1973 for the film “Game of Death,” which was released after Lee’s death.

6. Judy Garland ruby Slippers

Slippers from a 1939 movie that were given to Judy Garland by the management, before going on stage at the Staples Center, and given to The Born This Way singer, Lady Gaga who performed with the famous shoes at her LA Monster Ball show on her 25th birthday. It is said that five pairs of the iconic ruby slippers were made for Garland, and one was sold for £93,000, while the rest was still due to be auctioned off again at Christie’s.

7. Elvis Presley Watch

A star who even after 34 years of his death, manages the same craze for himself is nothing than a legend himself. Yes we are talking about Elvis Presley and his elegant watch that is a Hamilton make with 14K Gold frame, a black leather strap and inscriptions which read ‘Welcome home Elvis, from the Tankers’ on the back. When the star returned from the military in 1960, the Tankers who were one of Elvis’s earliest fan clubs, and they gave him the watch. He wore the watch for 6 months, then watch needed repairs and hence Elvis gave it to his uncle to get it fixed, but later decided to let him keep it. The watch was sold for $24K along with a letter from his uncle Vester Presley.

A few things are bound to happen, unknowingly the Voodoo Child artist left the specially made garment at an aristocratic friend’s house in London before his unfortunate death in 1970. This military grey jacket was given to pop memorabilia expert as payment for valuing his collection of rock items in the 1990s. Ted Owen stored the coat at his mother’s house and now decided to sell the coat which is expected to fetch more than $36,000.

9. John Wayne’s True Grit Outfit

Price: $15,000 - $20,000

The Hollywood celebrity John Wayne’s outfit that he wore in his Oscar-winning role as Rooster Cogburn, is up for sale and was expected to fetch $15,000 - $20,000. The whole lot of the costume is being auctioned that includes decorative string ties on either side, rough-out leather vest with lapels four pockets. The jacket has a lining with a label that reads Western Costume Co / Hollywood / 2318-4 / John Wayne / Chest 50. The costume also has a long sleeve, single pocket shirt of fine blue cotton, custom-made for Wayne by Ermenegildo Zegna, that he worn in the film True Grit.

  1. The thriller jacket was very nice. I love all Michael Jackson accessories. I have collected many of his accessories for my personal collection. I also have a replica michael jackson shirt form the thriller album.
