$24M 200-Acre Hawaiian Estate Has Every Outdoor Thing

Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.

Location: Kapaa, Hawaii

Price: $24,000,000

The Skinny: What better place to wrap up this Outdoors Week
run of House of the Day than with this lushly forested, unbearably
scenic 200-acre estate on the Hawaiian island of Kauai? The 125-year-old
homestead, dubbed Valley House after the original 19th-century
residence, features 100 acres of vast, unbroken stretches of rainforest,
mountain and Pacific Ocean views, and two waterfalls, and has been the
location for movies like Jurassic Park, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Tropic Thunder.
If lazing around moonily, staring at waterfalls while butterflies
circle your head like a living halo, isn't active enough for you, the
estate offers visceral thrills aplenty: skeet shooting, wild boar
hunting, horseback riding, swimming, surfing, fishing, and wingsuiting
(probably). After a long day of hunter-type pursuits, indulge your inner
gatherer by grazing the organic fruit trees bearing avocados, bananas,
oranges, tangerines, pomelos, mangos, lychees, and noni fruit because,
per the listing, "heart meets health and bounty infuses within." Valley House is asking $24M, but that's a small price to pay for an estate where "Rainbows of color and discovery are important parts of this dreamworld."
